Finding Me

I’m sure many of us have often asked ourselves “Who am I?” or rather “What is my significance in this densely populated world?”  I sure have! But then again, there are also those, who, from the very beginning knew exactly who they are. So what do you think is the right answer to that question? Is there even a “right” answer? What makes ME different from YOU? Because I, sure as hell, love chocolate ice-cream just like you! So does that make me exactly like you? Of course not!!

From experience I have realized that, for us wandering souls, you can’t expect to know the answer, to that question, in the snap of a finger or the blink of an eye. I have learnt that it happens gradually, it happens from experiencing all those millions of opportunities out there, waiting to be plucked by us individuals, like apples from a tree.Yes, everybody comes across similar situations but what we do about it, makes us different. Our actions differentiate us. They individualise us. Like for example, seeing the poor people here in India, I feel sympathy and I feel pitiful. And I know for sure that, in the future, no matter what I become or what I do, I will definitely help them out in some or the other way. From then on, I knew that I will make a difference to this world someday. I am determined to do so. Whereas some peoples’ first thought would be a comparison between themselves and those unfortunate ones. Before coming to a conclusion (or not) to help, a thought would flitter into their minds saying, “I have it better than you!”
Every such experience adds a new page to the book titled ME. Reading that book I know who I am and who I am not. I am generous and not selfish. I am lazy but am strong willed. I am not gullible.

So give yourself some time. I am sure you will all figure it out. Take things not one step at a time but half a step at a time if you have to. Its your life so live it at your own comfortable pace – no rush. 🙂
