So I will be hopefully participating in all the challenges for BOB. And my entries will be updated in this post whenever applicable.
‘This’ Made Me Think of ‘That’
Wednesday 14th May : Challenge for BOB is hosted at My Overstuffed Shelves. The challenge is to pick a book you read recently (or are reading currently) and think of something it reminds you of. It could be another book, movie, food, memory, experience anything. For more deets, click the above link.
So I read Don’t Look Back by Jennifer L Armentrout a few days back. It reminded me so much of the movie ‘The Roommate’ which has Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly in it. Just like in the movie, one of the female lead characters in the book, Cassie, is obsessed with her friend Samantha. Not a healthy obsession, more like Cassie wants everything that is Samantha’s and she struts around trying to be Samantha. Even her reputation in the school is one of trying to copy Sam in every way possible. The specifics as to why that is so, maybe different in the book compared to the movie, but this creepy obsession instantly reminded me of the movie I had seen.
Spell It Out Challenge
The challenge for 15th May, Thursday is being hosted by Kimberly Faye Reads. What you must do is pick the first letter of any book you have read or want to read so as to form a word. I’ve seen Don’t Look Back on a lot of shelves lately, but will need to bump it up on the list and find The Roommate on a streaming service. Another movie which is built on much the same premise is Single White Female (1992) with Jennifer Jason Leigh and Bridget Fonda which is very good and very creepy.
You should totally give it a try when you can 🙂 And thanks for the suggestion. ^^
Thanks for participating in the Spell It Out Challenge! 🙂
Thank you for hosting it! I enjoyed participating 🙂
