“All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players.
They have their exits and their entrances”
-William Shakespeare.
I couldn’t have agreed more to this quote . Why is death always considered wrong? Why can’t you have a positive outlook towards death? You’d probably think I am crazy for even thinking that. But I cant help ponder over it.
Death comes to individuals at different phases of their lives. Some die young, whereas others live to see their grandchildren. But at some point, each and everyone passes through the gates of heaven (or hell). Some to roam idly in its vastness, others to move onto their next life. At last free of the misfortunes of their life, they seek peace and calm. After a lifetime worth of hard work and dedication (be it towards their job or their family) they are relieved of all tensions and worries. So is it just of us to not want that for them? Partly yes, partly no. When we lose a loved one, it feels like the whole world has turned upside down. It feels like some one is yanking life out of us. Such pain and sadness, as never felt before, fills us. Forming such close relationships can have that effect. So what do we do? We pray to God for a long life, for ourselves and for others around us.
In all of this, did we once stop to think the role of death? It is picking out those people who have suffered a lot and putting an end to their troubles. It is giving an opportunity to people to turn over a new leaf. It is providing a second chance to those people who have made countless mistakes. Aren’t we being selfish to deprive them of all that? Just because we want them in our lives forever, it isn’t the right thing to happen to anybody!
It is inevitable to grieve and feel sorrow when someone dies. It isn’t easy to stop the tear that escaped or the “lump in the throat” feeling. But we should always remember them as that unique being, who left a mark of their memorable life on us. We should toast to the good times spent. When one dies, they take with them a life full of experiences and love and joy. They bid goodbye to Mr&Mrs.Problems.
So, is there really no fairness in death?
